The Esperanza is a pirate ship that sails the south seas in search of treasure. During the voyage, the privateers pass the time playing all sorts of gambling games, which are always won by Selkirk, a greedy, selfish young pirate who is also very lucky. One day, the captain decides to maroon him on a desert island. There, completely alone, he has to begin a new life and to learn that there are things much more important than money.
